The principal of St. James of the Valley School is the chief administrator of the school. St. James is committed to providing leadership that is competent and fosters an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation. The administration recognizes the dignity of life and a concern for justice consistent with the school's philosophy. Among the primary responsibilities and duties of the school principal are: to support the pastor and school religion coordinator in the development, facilitation, and evaluation of the religious education program; to foster a Christian atmosphere within the school; to provide leadership in developing educational programs for the school; to direct the implementation of school policies established by the Archdiocesan Commission on Education, area Education Commission, and other competent board, commission, or authority; to administer and supervise the instructional program and to provide for review, study, research, and analysis of this program; to stimulate the professional growth of teachers and to assist teachers in planning their own programs; to assist in the provision of appropriate and adequate instructional equipment and materials for all teachers; to interpret test reports and other data to faculty, parents, and parish community.
