The supervision and coordination of the religious education program are the direct responsibility of the school religion coordinator. Not only is the school religion coordinator a resource to the teachers of religion in the school, but he/she is also available to parents, particularly when children are preparing to receive a sacrament for the first time. The schools religion coordinator functions as catechetical leader and in directly responsible for coordinating the certification of religion teachers.
